ACCOMMODATION

Kings College has a good range of on-site accommodation the details of which are outlined below. We encourage registrants to stay on-site in order to relax and enjoy the company of others with an interest in family history.

The accommodation fee provides a single bed and linen for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights and a cooked breakfast the next morning. Dinners on Saturday and Sunday evenings are included. See Rates

Bedrooms
Accommodation is in very comfortable single rooms, twin rooms or dormitories within the boarding houses of King's College. All linen is provided and the rooms are heated, however if you feel the cold, additional blankets are available on request.

Bathrooms
Some rooms have shared ensuite style bathrooms, while most have gender separate communal bathroom facilities. Towels, bathmats, soap, shampoo and conditioner are all provided, however there are no hairdryers available for your use - so should you require one, please bring your own.
Kitchenettes
have basic kitchen facilities for your use. There will be light snacks made available in these kitchens such as tea, coffee, milk, bread, cup of soup sachets and fruit. Snack machines are also available in the houses, so please remember to bring coins if you intend using them, or you can bring your own favourites!

Common Rooms
All houses have common rooms with a TV including Sky and there are also rooms with games facilities, such as pool and table tennis available.


Fitness Centre
The College has a fully equipped Fitness Centre available for your use, including a gymnasium with a synthetic floor.

Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool
There is a 25-metre heated swimming pool adjacent to the Fitness Centre available for your use.


Squash and Tennis Courts
There are two squash courts and twelve tennis courts available for your use. You will need to bring your own gear such as court shoes, rackets and balls etc.

Opening Times
You can access the Fitness Centre, Swimming Pool or Courts between the hours of 5am - 9pm, however, at all times there must be at least two of you in any one of these areas due to Health & Safety requirements. Please bring extra sports towels if you intend using these facilities.
Telephones
Some houses have card phones available for your use. Phone cards can be purchased from the College Support Staff.
Email Access
Internet email access is available either by wireless or via computers in the Boarding Houses.
Laundry and Ironing
There are no laundry or ironing facilities on site, however laundry can be organised for you.
Security
The College grounds are patrolled by security staff and we will be the only group staying on site during the Congress. Access to the houses is through a unique Pin Pad on the door, and therefore entry can only be gained if you know the Pin Number.

On site accommodation includes 4 nights accommodation (Friday 16th , Saturday 17th, Sunday  18th & Monday 19th January 2009) 4 cooked Breakfasts (Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday) 2 Dinners (Saturday and Sunday)
