There is a range of optional functions arranged during Congress which you may be interested in attending:
Opening FunctionThe Opening Function will be held in the Dome at the Auckland Museum from 7pm to 9 pm on Friday, 16
January. This will be a Cocktail Function and will include a welcome, a few formal speeches with plenty of
time
allowed for mixing and mingling, catching up with friends from past
Congresses and making new friends in the genealogy world.
We won't mind if you daydream while admiring Auckland from this
magnificent vantage point with 360 degree views.
Congress BanquetThe
Congress Banquet will be held on Monday, 19 January, 2009 in the ASB
Lounge at Eden Park, the home of the famous New Zealand All
Blacks. This will be a lavish buffet dinner with great
entertainment.
Presentation of the AFFHO awards will be made at this dinner. An occasion not to be missed.
Pre and Post Congress Tours Auckland Research Repositories Tour arranged for Friday 16 January 9am – 4pm and Wednesday 21 January.
A scenic day tour of Auckland has been arranged for our out of town visitors.
NZSG Family Research Centre visitsIncluded
in the programme is the opportunity to research at the NZSG Family
Research Centre in Panmure. Special sessions have been
arranged for Saturday and Sunday evenings from 7pm to 10pm.
This is limited to 35 only per evening. The centre will be
open for research prior to and after the Congress.
